Milos

Milos, one of the most charming islands of the Cyclades, has been known since ancient times for its rich minerals, such as obsidian, used since prehistoric times. The island has a long history, flourishing during the Archaic and Classical periods. The discovery of the famous statue of Aphrodite of Milos in 1820, now on display at the Louvre, placed Milos in the international artistic spotlight. In more recent history, the geological diversity of the island and its volcanic soils have been studied and exploited.
